Reporer Rob Powell of Telecom Ramblings provided an overview of network expansions worth noting from the past week, including Crown Castle’s fiber extension into Texas. “Crown Castle is extending its metro fiber reach in the Lone Star state. Late last week, they unveiled plans to build out fiber into Stream Data Centers' Houston I facility in The Woodlands. That's a key business hub about 28 miles to the north of the Houston CBD, and Crown Castle says the route will be completely diverse, adding redundancy and low latency to support the demands of 5G and other NextGen technologies,” Powell stated.
