With more than three decades of experience in the tower business, we deliver the expertise, responsiveness and visibility you need to move your projects forward with confidence. Our local teams work proactively with you to understand your requirements and keep your project moving forward with clear, accurate insight—so you know what’s happening, what’s next and when you’ll be on air.

Our infrastructure isn’t just for wireless carriers. If you’ve ever wondered how your business can lease space on one of our existing towers, this video will show you how we can help you select the right sites, plan your build and get on air quickly.

Whether you’re building or expanding a wireless network, we take the time to understand your short- and long-term goals, so we can help to identify the right tower infrastructure for your needs.

Every project is different, but generally at this stage we will work to:

  • Understand your equipment specifications as well as your technical, operational and coverage requirements.
  • Provide you with a tailored list of site options.
  • Give you access to accurate, up-to-date data on available tower sites—so you have the information you need to make informed decisions.
  • Understand your budget and timeline expectations to ensure the project plan is realistic, predictable and aligned with your priorities.

The more information we have upfront, the smoother the path to getting on air. It’s important that you provide us with as much detail as possible in your lease application, so we can minimize any potential surprises. We’ll work with you to confirm technical and operational details to ensure the project is scoped accurately from the start.

The (1) centerline refers to the height on the tower where your equipment will be placed. Based on your equipment and usage, make sure to let us know specific centerline requirements you have so we can share appropriate sites that meet your needs.

Your equipment size and configuration determine where equipment can be placed on a tower, as some center lines may already be occupied. Let us know the size of your equipment (an estimate is fine) so we can provide site options that have the proper availability. The image above provides some examples for sizing reference. If you plan on using an antenna, we’ll need to know the azimuth (the degree the antenna will point) so we can make sure you get the best signal performance.

If you’re broadcasting a signal, let us know the frequency your equipment uses in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). This will ensure that we only provide site options that aren’t already using those frequencies.

To lease ground space at the base of a tower, including shelter (1), rack space (2) or a generator (3), we’ll need to know that ahead of time so we can provide you with site options that have available space to lease.

loading..

All on-site equipment will need a dedicated power source (1) and meter (2). Let us know how many volts and amps (3) you’ll need so we can help you find the best available power source.

loading..

If you are planning to transmit data between your site and your network, you’ll need backhaul (1). Fiber (2) and/or copper (3) are available at most sites, but in some cases, new fiber will need to be installed. Factors like your location and bandwidth requirements will determine the type of backhaul you’ll need. Let us know, and we’ll help you identify the best solution.

A typical lease includes:

  • Infrastructure leasing costs
  • Service costs related equipment loading and activation, which may include:
    • Engineering review and mount analysis
    • Construction services and drawings
    • Utility, power or fiber connectivity that needs to be supplied

While we offer site acquisition services, once your project is confirmed, you’ll also be required to hire a Crown Castle-approved contractor who can manage insurance requirements, construction and bring proven expertise to what is often a complex workflow.

The five phases include:

  1. Engineering Review
  2. Zoning and Permitting
  3. Licensing (SLA)
  4. Pre-construction Review
  5. Completion

Throughout these phases, we’ll stay closely engaged with you—helping you anticipate next steps, avoid delays, and keep the project moving forward.

Safety is of the utmost importance to us. Once a site is chosen, we require both a mount analysis and a structural analysis to ensure that the tower can safely hold the weight of the equipment on the centerline you requested.

loading..

For all site builds, we require drawings and documentation that detail exactly where your equipment will be placed on the tower and the ground. We are happy to provide this service for you. If using a third-party contractor, make sure they are familiar with the exact requirements for construction drawings to avoid causing delays.

loading..

To begin construction, you will need to obtain the appropriate permit(s) (or official documentation stating that you are exempt from a permit). The office where these documents can be obtained varies depending on the municipality. We have years of zoning and permitting expertise and relationships in most jurisdictions, so we can happily handle this process for you. You are also welcome to do it yourself if you prefer.

When it comes time to install your equipment, you will need to hire a Crown Castle-approved contractor to oversee the construction from start to finish.
