Facing opposition, Amazon reconsiders N.Y. headquarters site, two officials say

Amazon is reconsidering its plan to build a new campus in New York City following "a wave of political and community opposition." While the announcement was initially hailed as an "economic triumph" by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, "the project now faces withering criticism from some elected officials and advocacy groups appalled at the prospect of giving giant subsidies to the world’s most valuable company." There are currently no specific plans to abandon the project.
