Dr. Goldsmith was appointed to the Board effective February 2018. On August 1, 2025, Dr. Goldsmith became the President of Stony Brook University. She served as the Dean of Engineering and Applied Science and Arthur LeGrand Doty Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princeton University from September 2020 to August 2025. From 2012 to September 2020, Dr. Goldsmith served as the Stephen Harris professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University and served as a professor, associate professor or assistant professor at Stanford University from January 1999 to 2012. Dr. Goldsmith also founded and served as Chief Technology Officer ("CTO") of Plume WiFi (formerly, Accelera, Inc.) from August 2010 to August 2014 and Quantenna Communications, Inc. (formerly, mySource Communications, Inc.) from 2005 to 2009. In addition, Dr. Goldsmith currently serves as member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). She is a frequent lecturer and writer regarding wireless technologies. From March 2019 to October 2025, Dr. Goldsmith served on the board of directors of Medtronic plc, a public company. Dr. Goldsmith also serves on the board of directors of Intel Corporation, a public company.
