Rural broadband is now law in Mississippi

Governor Phil Bryant signed a new law helping to make rural broadband a reality, expanding internet access for thousands of families. House Bill 366 created the "Mississippi Broadband Enabling Act" and has received bi- partisan support since nearly the beginning. Lawmakers are hoping this will kickstart growth in rural areas. "This is a great example of what happens in this building when we all begin to work together," Governor Bryant said. Nearly all of the statewide electric co-operatives now have the legal authority to provide high speed internet for rural Mississippians.
