5G technology is Maryland’s future

Don Fry, President and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, published an op-ed in The Daily Record advocating for improved connectivity throughout Maryland. Fry cites that while 37 percent of Americans use a smart phone to go online, three million children in the U.S. do not have internet access at home. He makes the argument that implementing 5G could expand access to underserved communities and enable them to apply for jobs, do homework, access government services and receive more health information. To expand 5G in Maryland, the state’s Greater Baltimore Committee signed the MD5G Partnership to support the rollout of a 5G network and emphasize the importance of statewide solutions.
