Things you should consider:
- When is the best time to consider extending my lease?
A lease extension can be an important aspect of securing your future revenue stream. If your ground lease has less than 30 years remaining, you should consider discussing a lease extension with us. This maximizes the opportunity for us to attract new customers and for the site on your land to remain a viable asset in our portfolio.
- What are the incremental benefits to extending?
We encourage landowners to contact us if their lease is 30 years or less so we can discuss the best way for you to secure your current existing rental streams prior to lease expiration.
- What should I do about a third party who has contacted me about my lease?
You should first ask yourself whether or not this company will be around in future years. Smaller, third-party firms may not have the long-term viability of a larger, more established firm like Crown Castle. So it is important to consider whether the company will be in business long enough to fulfill its obligations to you.
- Why does Crown Castle encourage Right of First Refusal (ROFR)?
This document or lease provision basically says that if you ever want to sell your property, you will notify us first, and we will have the right to match any offer. A ROFR protects both of us. It gives us the confidence to tell our customers we’ll be in that location as long as necessary, and it gives you the financial security that comes from a reliable revenue stream.

Crown Castle is one of the largest US cell tower companies; does this affect the attention I get regarding my lease agreement?
Crown Castle’s relationship with our landowners is a top priority and we strive to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with each of our landowners. As we have grown our tower portfolio, we have staffed our organization to be able to respond efficiently to our landowners.
I have moved recently. How do I ensure that my payments are sent to the correct address?
In order to ensure that all payments are made to the correct party at the correct address, Crown Castle requires that changes to personal information be requested in writing. I have transferred ownership of the property to another party. What steps do I take to convey this information to Crown Castle?
Crown Castle requires that changes to property ownership be submitted in writing together with the associated legal documentation. These documents are necessary to protect the interests of the andowners and Crown Castle. For tax reporting purposes, Crown Castle must have legal proof of ownership of the land on which its tower is located. Crown Castle is also required by the IRS to have a Form W-9 on file for all landowners. Download the Change of Ownership form and submit as follows:

I have a question about the tower itself. Whom do I contact?

I need an insurance certificate. Whom do I contact?
Some agreements require Crown Castle to provide insurance certificates to the landowner. Crown Castle complies with these terms as required. How can I be sure that Crown Castle is going to honor the tax-related obligations of my agreement?
Crown Castle takes great pride in ensuring that our tax obligations (if prescribed in a lease agreement) are effectively administered and that accurate payments are made on a timely basis. To facilitate the processing of your property tax reimbursement, please review and complete the Property Tax form.
