City lagging in race for speedy 5G service, biz leaders say

In a “5G blueprint” for the next mayor of New York City (NY), published Wednesday, a coalition of business groups—including the Partnership for New York City, Association for a Better New York and the Real Estate Board of New York—say the city must speed up the “lengthy review and approval periods by multiple city agencies” for 5G equipment. The article stated, “‘After years of acrimony over access to poles for 5G installation, industry providers are pleased with the de Blasio's administration's recent effort,’ said Ana Rua, government affairs director at Crown Castle, which installs and operates 5G equipment and contributed to the blueprint.”
